Community Campus Day Signup

Dear BCD Families:
Saturday, October 24 is our Second Annual Community Campus Day. Make new friends in the community and enjoy the satisfaction of contributing your valuable time and immeasurable energy to beautifying our campus and readying it for winter.
This year we will be constructing a new swing set, installing split rail fencing, painting exterior woodwork, repairing stone walls, cleaning up our woodlands, and raking mountains of leaves! Be sure to dress appropriately for outdoor work and bring along your work gloves.
A community lunch sponsored by the Parents’ Association will be made available from 12:30 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. The PA is also making childcare available for children in Preschool through Grade 4. To offset the expenses of this event, eco-friendly metal water bottles and hand-made cloth lunch sacks will be available for purchase at the sign-in table.
Please click here to sign up for a project (morning session: 10:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and afternoon session: 1:30–4:00 p.m.) and to register for child care and lunch. Whether you can join in for an hour or stay all day, your presence is welcome and appreciated.
Warmest regards,
Margaret Lindenmaier

Parent volunteers are needed at drop off to set up Fitzpatrick Hall, at 10 a.m. to help serve guests coffee and muffins, clean up, and re-set the hall for lunch, and at 12:30 to clean up.  Please email Stephanie Iverson steph.is.iversonic@gmail.com or Courtney McDonnell courtney@birdhousestudio.net if you would like to volunteer.  Parent volunteers are asked to park on Cole Field with the faculty.

Harvest Time!

BCD’s organic vegetable garden is ripe with all the great ingredients for this year’s Thanksgiving Soup. Preschool and Lower School students got to see the fruits of last year’s labor and help with the harvesting of our carrots, cucumbers, onions, potatoes, and herbs, among other earthly delights.  Mmmmm – can’t wait for soup!
