Dear BCD Parents,
Grandparents’ & Grandfriends’ Day is Friday October 9th. We are excited to meet your parents and family friends. As we prepare for the big day, here is what you will need to know. Please be sure to discuss the schedule with both your children and their guests before they arrive. If your guests have any special needs please inform us ASAP so that we can try to accommodate them.
Parking: Parent volunteers are asked to park on Cole Field with the faculty. For guest parking we will fill the lot in front of the Main Building, the faculty parking lot, and then the rest of Cole Field. The wall will be coned off for bus parking.
Schedule:
8 a.m. Regular drop-off. Parent volunteers to Fitzpatrick Hall for set-up.
10 a.m. Guests arrive and are escorted to Fitzpatrick Hall, where they will pick up their name tags. Refreshments will be served. Mr. Lindenmaier will welcome them to BCD.
10:30 a.m. Preschool and Lower School guests will be escorted to homerooms by volunteers. Middle and Upper School students will arrive in Fitzpatrick and escort their guests to 4th period.
11:25-12 Lunch. Pre-K – Grade 6 students and guests eat lunch in homeroom classrooms. Grades 7-9 students and guests return to Fitzpatrick Hall.
Special instructions for Siblings: Families with siblings in different grades should plan to eat lunch together with the oldest sibling’s class. Therefore, if the oldest sibling is in Pre-K – 6, guests will go to the oldest child’s homeroom for lunch, where they will be joined by the younger siblings. If the oldest sibling is in Grade 7-9, guests and younger siblings will go to Fitzpatrick Hall for lunch.
12:15 p.m. Everyone reconvenes in Fitzpatrick Hall for Chorus and BCD song.
12:30 p.m. Guests depart; students with written permission may leave with their guests – Homeroom teachers need to be informed of this in advance.
1:00 p.m. Buses depart.
1:05 p.m. Parent Pick-up – Please do not arrive until 1:05 so that all guests will have time to safely depart from campus. If you arrive earlier, you will be directed to the Stockbridge Bowl area until the traffic clears from the driveway.
Please remember that students are to provide lunch for their guest(s).
Parent volunteers are needed at drop off to set up Fitzpatrick Hall, at 10 a.m. to help serve guests coffee and muffins, clean up, and re-set the hall for lunch, and at 12:30 to clean up. Please email Stephanie Iverson steph.is.iversonic@gmail.com or Courtney McDonnell courtney@birdhousestudio.net if you would like to volunteer. Parent volunteers are asked to park on Cole Field with the faculty.
Thanks in advance for helping to make Grandparents’ & Grandfriends’ Day such a wonderful event for our whole community!
