Grade 7 Add Sub Int

Perkins HW – Due 9/7

A 40-inch straightedge (without markings) is divided into four pieces.  The length of each piece is an integer number of inches.  These four pieces, when used in tandem, can be used to measure any integer length from 1 to 40 inches.

What are the lengths of the pieces?

Spend at least 15 minutes on this problem and be prepared to show your work tomorrow in class, even if you didn’t find the answer.  Hint: The answer is closely related to the power of 2 pattern we found in class today.

I’ve added some new links to the left that might be helpful. Brightstorm is an online math tutorial complete with videos on a variety of topics for algebra and above.

The homeconnect link is for all of those students who may have misplaced the URL, but still want to correct an assignment or download a missing homework. If you forgot your sign-in name and password, you can call me at home or email me at gperkins@berkshirecountryday.org.
