Andrea has been teaching in the Early Childhood division for fourteen years, and served as a co-division coordinator for four. Before coming to BCD, she taught in public schools in Massachusetts, including several one-room schoolhouses. Andrea is the author and illustrator of on that day, a children’s book featured on the PBS show “Reading Rainbow” on the anniversary of 9/11. She has had a lifelong interest in the arts, including working stints as a flutist, metalsmith, and pastry chef. Poetry is another of Andrea’s passions, and each year her class presents a Poetry Assembly. Andrea lives in Sheffield, MA with her husband and her son, a BCD alumnus.
