Hi team, your homework is to begin the process of memorizing the verbs that take etre in the passe compose.  On page 148 of your cahier, start practicing by making several lists (opposites, synonyms, the 4 that start with “r”).  On Wednesday, you will have your first quiz on these verbs. 

You’ll have to know the verb in French, the English translation, and the past participle.

So keep that in mind when you study tonight.  You are trying to be able to write down all 16 verbs from memory.  Of course you can always use the acronym:  DR + MRS VANDERTRAMP!

Hi gang, for Monday you are to do an exercise that will help you to review both the present tense and the past tense.  Here’s what you need to do:

on page 146 of your cahier, you are to write 12 original sentences using the following format.

I) Choose 12 verbs from the concept map in your cahier that we did in class today.  Remember that you are to choose verbs from each of the 4 categories:

1)  -er (regular verbs like regarder) +irregular verb:   ouvrir

2.)  -re  (regular verbs  like perdre), irregular verbs like : comprendre, dire,lire  etc.

3.) - ir  (regular verbs like finir) + irregular verbs like:  servir, dormir

4)  Irregular Verbs:   (avoir, faire, aller, etre).

II.  Now write 12 sentence in the present tense.

III.  Now, transform each sentence into the past tense.

That’s due on Monday – it should go on page 146 of your cahier.  Do a good job and you will have a nice review for the final exam.

Hi 7th grade, your homework is to complete the worksheet on the past tense that I gave you today in class.  We’ll correct it tomorrow in class and continue practicing the irregular past participles.  See you then.

Hi gang, your homework is to study for a quiz on the past tense (the p.c.) which will be on Monday.  This quiz is designed to see how well you’re getting this material.  The format will be very similar to the worksheets you did for homework.   You should study the worksheets that I just returned to you.   You are responsible for only the regular past participles for this quiz – not the irregular past participles.   Good luck!

Hi gang, you don’t have homework tonight (good luck on your History 1st drafts!).  Tomorrow we will work some more on the past tense.  Also, I have your cahiers (except for Jack’s) and I will return them tomorrow.  So don’t worry about the cahiers – I have them!

Next week, we’ll have a quiz on the passe compose.  We’ll get ready for this tomorrow.

Hi gang!  Your homework is to illustrate the poem “Le tamanoir” which is on pages 134-135.   You may wish to illustrate both pages but please put most of your illustration onto page 134( which is a left side page).   Have fun with it.  Please no markers or graphite pencil – just colored pencils.

Hi team, here’s the skinny on the homework.

Your assignment for tomorrow:   Your homework is to do the take-home, closed-cahier quiz on the imperative. It consists of 10 sentences that you will translate using the imperative.

Before the quiz:  Please study the imperative using the handout that I gave you last week and your cahier.  When you are ready to take the quiz, put the study materials away and take the quiz as you would in class.

The Honor System:   This quiz will be conducted according to the principles of the honor system.  You will encounter this system throughout your academic careers.

The way it works is that you will take the quiz as if you were in class, but you take it at home.  I am relying on your integrity and honor that you will behave just as you would in class.  In other words, you will not use any study materials while you are taking the quiz.  Likewise, after you are done with the quiz, you will not change an answer.

When you are done, please write:  “No aid.  No violations,” sign and date underneath.  This indicates that you have conducted yourself according to the honor system.

Hi there 7th grade, just a reminder that I have your cahiers over the weekend.  I will read and grade your one-act plays in your cahiers. By the way, some of you need to create a Table of Contents for your new cahiers.  This time, though, I’m only grading your brilliant plays.

Also, I have the homework worksheet that you did on the imperative.  I will grade the translations that you did and then on Monday we’ll do the listening comprehension section on the imperative.  You will also get a take-home, open-cahier quiz on the imperative that will be due on Tuesday.

Finally,  I will return your quizzes on the pronominals and clothing on Monday.

Starting next week, we will start the past tense.  You are going to enjoy being able to talk in the past tense!
