New and Upcoming!
Life continues to sail along in First Grade. This is a busy time of year and the children are full of excitement and joy!
We have been engaged in interesting conversation, stories, and writing assignment about our Social Curriculum topic, cooperation. Many of you may have seen the “cooperation” bulletin board at parent/teacher conferences. In addition to that exercise, we have written a recipe for cooperation and a book. We will share these with our friends in Lower School at an upcoming L.S. Meeting.
This coming Friday, at 6:30, the P.A. is having Movie Night, featuring “The Legend of the Guardians:The Owls of GA’Hoole.” Kathryn Lasky, author of the book series, “The Owls of GA’Hoole,” will speak at BCD on 11/18 at 10:00 AM. Check out the details for these events on MyBCD.
Thanksgiving Soup is just around the corner. In preparation for this, each child needs to bring in one zucchini (chopped) and one whole apple. Ingredients should arrive at school the morning of 11/20. Thank you for your help in the success of our tradition of Thanksgiving Soup.
It was a gift to have the time to speak with you all at Parent/Teacher conferences. We have been so impressed by the enthusiasm and curiosity of this class.
