First Grade News!
Our trip to the Botanical Garden was a big hit. We toured the Garden looking for four types of evergreens. Pine, spruce, fir and juniper were all found with the help of a little poem we learned about the needles. After the tour, we worked in their classrooms making paper and necklaces. We also played a sorting game and colored interesting nature pictures. Of course, the bus rides to and from were also highlights of our trip! ‘Hope you enjoy the slides!
On Monday, October 31st, we will celebrate Halloween. Our class will parade with the whole Lower School all around the campus. We will end up in Furey Hall to join in Halloween singing with Mrs. Hilliard. After we will have “Super Choice” in the classroom. The Class Parents are arranging for a few special treats and the children have been busy decorating the room. The children may bring a costume for this event. We will change into our costumes after lunch. Please send cotumes in a labeled bag. We look forward to seeing all the creative ideas our children have for this event.
