HW for Friday (to be handed in on Monday):  composition bases on the Aeneid.  (a) Pretend you are a servant or slave and have witnessed the pillaging of Troy.  Scan pp. 84-92.  Be vivid.  OR (b)  Describe VIVIDLY (as a drama) any part of p. 143 to top of 144 and 145 and 150 to top of 151.  This is all Dido.  Page and a half.

HW for Friday:  be ready to present you “page” on sheets (1) and (2) on the Iliad.

HW for Monday:  everyone except Rebecca, Sam K., and Harper prepare final draft of Romeo and Juliet essay.  Rebecca, Sam K., and Harper are to do the following essay for Monday:  pp. 69–70, lines 64–113.  Follow Juliet’s confusion, her momentary plunge into darkness, and then her exclamation that there is something worse than death.  In the introduction speak of Juliet’s joy in the “holy act” (p. 56, line one) which then, by a chance meeting between Mer, Tyb, and Rom has been snatched away.

Eng 6 0 20 Jan ’11 HW and Reading for Fri and next Mon

HW for Friday:  composition–”Going to the thinking place.”  Remember that “Big Ma” talks about her thinking place (and her late husband’s too) in the old forest, where she goes to “think out” what to do about a situation that is not altogether clear.
