The Pearl-60 second recaps

Eighth graders are finishing up their work on their summer reading projects. Students were asked to choose a book they had read this summer, and working with a partner create a series of 60 second recap videos of the book, using the examples on the website. All groups chose to do recaps of John Steinbeck’s The Pearl. The basic requirements included an overview, characters, themes and an analysis of the literary devices used, although other categories could also be included.

Recap scripts were written and students used a green screen to record their recaps. It was very difficult for most to produce a video of exactly 60 seconds. Editing was done with Corel VideostudioProx4.
Students in 8F have finished and 8S should finish early this week and will be added as completed.
