Fourth Graders each chose a whale to research and make a digital poster about. In the course of the research stage students learned to use Diigo, a social bookmarking, note-taking site to help them keep track of their citations and their research. The list of questions to be answered included a description of the whale, its diet, migration patterns, and much more. Students searched the internet for images, videos and the specific sound that their whale makes and put it all together on a digital poster. Aside from finding all of the information, the hardest part was keeping track of where images or videos came from in order to credit them.
Not all of the posters included in the presentation below are completed, so check back next week if the whale you wanted to learn more about hasn’t been finished quite yet.
