Hi BCD Families-
We are hoping to gather various world music instruments to spice up the visual environment of the music room. If you have an instrument or instruments (not too precious!) that you would like to lend us, we would like to display it in the music room.
In addition, if you have any great photos from recent BCD concerts, I would love to have copies.

BCD students and faculty completed a survey last week of all the things we’re thankful for. Mrs. Tumenas compiled the data and came up with the Wordle you see here.
Second Grade and Preschool also collaborated on Thanksgiving art projects and documented the process—click here to see what they’re thankful for!
Mrs. Clausen and Second Grade have been busy this year. Already they’ve managed to host a poetry café, visit Old Sturbridge Village, write book reports, hike Kennedy Park, and analyze BCD’s mission statement. They’re an ambitious group! Madame Whalen maintains not one, not two…but six blogs on MyBCD, each full of photos, videos, and links to interactive French lessons and games that will have you singing en français in no time.
The Sixth Grade spent a week at the Hulbert Outdoor Center in Fairlee, Vermont learning team building skills. Students participated in such activities as the Birds Nest, high ropes course, a day-long hike, night time astronomy, and bridge building to learn more about their classmates and how to get along with eath other while recognizing and celebrating their differences. Mrs. Meyer maintains four classroom blogs: Seventh Grade English, Eighth Grade English, Seventh Grade History, and Fifth Grade History, all chock-full of useful information on grammar, writing, and history (and, of course, homework).
The Fifth Grade arrived yesterday morning at Nature’s Classroom in Wakefield, RI, and got straight to work exploring the salt pond. Click here for photos!

BCD’s new B3, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten students started the school year off in beautifully restored classrooms in historic Albright Hall after a summer of repair, renovation, restoration and remodeling. The beautiful hardwood floors were redone, rooms were opened up, walls were painted, new tile and lighting was installed, and new furniture decorates the rooms. We could not be more excited about the work that has been done!
