The Preschool at Berkshire Country Day was busy last Friday with singing voices and happy hands as music and art were blended together to celebrate the beauty of Autumn.  Thank you to everyone in attendance as we held our first Music & Me of the year!

Each week participants explore a different theme, and the next Music & Me program is a “Walk With Nature.”  We hope to see you and your family at 10:00 AM this Friday, October 14 as Doria Polinger and Joanne DelCarpine lead everyone to explore our natural world in art and song.

Berkshire Country Day School will be holding an Admission Open House on Friday, August 5 at 9 a.m. for families interested in learning more about a BCD education. Guests will have an opportunity to tour the campus and classroom buildings, and have one-on-one conversations with the Head of School and administration.

Please join us for our Faculty Open House on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. for families interested in learning more about a Berkshire Country Day School Education. Berkshire Country Day School is located at 55 Interlaken Road (Route 183) in Stockbridge, MA. This event is free and open to the public.

Families will have an opportunity to tour BCD’s 27-acre campus, have one-on-one conversations with faculty & administration and learn more about our vigorous curriculum and co-curricular programs that emphasize academics, the Arts, and athletics.

Please join us for our Preschool Class Visit Day on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. for families of children ages 2.5 to 4 years interested in learning more about a Berkshire Country Day School education. Berkshire Country Day School is located at 55 Interlaken Road (Route 183) in Stockbridge, MA. This event is free and open to the public.

Children and their parents will have an opportunity to participate in a Morning Meeting with Lead Preschool Educator Ellie Atwater and her class, and then join in an art exploration project and other classroom activities. This 45-minute special opportunity will allow families to experience a “day in the life” of a Preschool student at Berkshire Country Day School by joining in the fun. Parents will also have an opportunity to tour BCD’s 27-acre campus and classroom buildings, meet members of the Preschool faculty and administration, and learn more about our Preschool program and curriculum.

Announcing New ‘BCD Music & Me” Programs for February through April

We are offering a weekly Friday morning playgroup program this academic year for children ages 2-4 and their parent/caretaker. “BCD Music & Me,” part of BCD’s ongoing program series for preschool aged children, is free and opens to the public. Advance registration is suggested.

“BCD Music & Me” is held on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. in Berkshire Country Day School’s Furey Hall Music Room on the School’s historic Brook Farm campus located on Route 183 in Stockbridge.

The program replicates a BCD preschool morning with a circle time, music period, story time and a different age-appropriate theme each week designed to inspire learning through play and discovery.

Feb. 18…”Brown bear, brown bear and a visit to the zoo”

March 11…”Where the wild things are with ‘wild things’ puppets”

What a fun weekend BCD had at Annual Harvest Festival at the Berkshire Botanical Gardens in Stockbridge! A big BCD thank you to the Perkins Family and Maxine Carter Lome for volunteering at the booth on Saturday and Sunday. Thank you so much!  We had a great time meeting families from all over the country as well as saying hello to many familiar faces from current families, students, alumni to past faculty who have known and loved BCD over the years. Thank you for coming by the booth as well as wearing your BCD Gear! I look forward to seeing you next year at this fun tradition of the Berkshires.
