Happy New 2010 from BCD!
Today we had a great FridayBCD & Me group eager to learn about Light & Dark/Sun & Moon in observance of our Winter Solstice on December 21st! From a tent with a glowing surprise inside to the reading of a favorite “Goodnight Moon” fun was had by all!

A big thank you to our fabulous faculty; Ellie Atwater & Joni Guerette, for leading a very exciting Preschool Playdate for our prospective families on Saturday! From the discussion of a typical day in the life of a bcd preschool student to a hands on experience of every nook and cranny of the preschool rooms…fun was had by all!

Berkshire Country Day School is hosting a Monday morning story time hour for children ages 2–4 and their parent/caretaker. A different book will be featured each week, with the reading to be followed by an age-appropriate and theme-related project. Dress up and join in the fun of reading!

Preschool Playdate & Open House
Saturday, November 21 at 9:00 a.m. in the Berkshire Room in Albright Hall
BCD’s lead preschool educators, Ellie Atwater & Joni Guerette, invite you and your family to a 45-minute playgroup designed to simulate a classroom experience for your children with activities that highlight our educational philosophy of learning through purposeful play. Families will then have an opportunity to tour BCD’s 27-acre campus and meet members of the administration to learn more about what makes BCD’s Preschool program so special.

Today we were very excited to welcome 170 Gradparents’ & Grandfriends’ from as near as Stockbridge to as far away as Egypt as they came together in celebration of their grandchildren and friends.
A welcome was extended by Head of School, Paul Lindenmaier, before our students came in to escort their special friends to their classrooms to experience a the “day in the life” of their BCD Grandchild or friend.
Thank you to Joanne DelCarpine and Maxine Carter Lome in Development, as well as the Parent Association for putting on such a special and symbolic event.

We invite you to take a “virtual tour” of our newly renovated Preschool rooms for our Beginner Threes and Prekindergarten classes. All three rooms were given a “breathe of life” with newly refinished floors, paint, furniture and rugs. A big thank you to our amazing crew of Larry and Dan who worked tirelessly over the summer to create this beautiful new environment for our students and faculty.

BCD was represented by a hearty group of volunteers at the 75th Annual Harvest Festival this past weekend. A big thank you to Maxine Carter Lome, Director of Communications & Development and Joanne DelCarpine, Development Associate (as well as Mr. Roberto) for volunteering at the BCD Booth!
We appreciate our proud BCD Alumni, current BCD families as well as prospective BCD families who dropped by the booth for a visit to say “hello”, gather admission information or to take part in making some crafts!
